Fourth Grade Tech Check List

Each year teachers will integrate the following technology skills into their classroom instruction:

 

Computer Skills

• Use toolbar commands 

• Open, create, save, print, and close documents 

  • Recognize the difference between “save” and “save as”

• Make a copy and rename document 

• Save files to appropriate locations

• Increase their proficiency in using editing tools (i.e. inserting pictures, inserting links, line spacing, etc.)

• Share Google files

  • Collaborate with others

• Use keyboarding skills

• Students will key 20 wpm

• Use a word processing application

  • Align/edit/spell check/enhance text

  • Insert/manipulate graphics from a variety of sources

• Use google apps as directed, emphasizing Google Docs

• Safely and responsibly research for information using search engines

• Use a variety of multimedia presentation applications

  • Complete a Google Presentation with enhancements

• Utilize Gmail safely and securely to communicate for school purposes  

 

Other Device Skills

• Utilize touch pads

  • Change size of objects

  • Scrolling

  • Click, select and drag objects

  • Open and close apps

• Navigate and utilize teacher selected applications on devices

General

• Understand how to verify a site for authenticity of information

• Independently enter username and password

• Securely log out of applications and devices

• Demonstrating proper Internet etiquette and safe usage/confidential practices

• Use google apps as directed, emphasizing google docs

• Safely and responsibly research for information using search engines

• Practice safe and responsible use of technology devices

• Follow acceptable Internet Use Policy
